Botox® & Dermal Fillers: What to Expect
Dr. Rever will discuss your cosmetic concerns and goals to be sure that Botox® or Juvederm® is right for you. The number of injections recommended will be determined by the number of areas to be treated and the desired result. Typically, treatment is completed in about 30 minutes and you can resume your normal activities right after.
We will apply a topical anesthetic for your comfort and Dr. Rever will place the injections in the area(s) to be treated using a very thin needle. Most patients feel only a brief pinching sensation as the injection is administered. You may experience minor tenderness, redness, or swelling at the injection site for a couple of days. Your results will begin to emerge and become more noticeable over the coming weeks.
Botox® in Silver Spring, MD
Botox offers a non-surgical treatment option for turning back the clock on aging. Botox has been in wide use since its FDA approval in 2002 to treat a wide range of both cosmetic and health-related concerns.
Botox is made from botulinum toxin type A, a neurotoxin that paralyzes targeted muscles for a smoother appearance of the skin and a more refreshed, youthful complexion.
Botox can treat:
- Fine lines and wrinkles of the face
- Deep furrows of the brow area
- Frown lines, laugh lines around the mouth
- Crows feet
Juvederm® in Silver Spring
Dr. Rever offers the option of Juvederm to restore volume in the lips and address deep nasolabial lines and wrinkles. A dermal filler, Juvederm contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance that diminishes with age. Replenishing HA with a soluble gel, Juvederm can restore lost volume and hydrate the skin for a more youthful, healthy glow.
Juvederm was FDA approved in 2006 for treating “smile lines” around the mouth and nose as well as plumping the lips. Juvederm has evolved into a family of dermal fillers that can treat all areas of the face with lasting results.
Dr. Rever can work with you to manage your cosmetic goals with periodic touch-up treatments when you visit for routine dental care.
